There have been calls out to donate blood from both the local chapter of the Red Cross and the San Diego Blood Bank. Its hard to believe, but type O blood supply is down to only a couple of hours. Type O blood is considered a universal blood type because it can be transfused into anyone regardless of their blood type. Other blood types are also low.
